Synopsis
There was a King, Dan-Jong, who eventually was over-ridden by another King, Sae-Jo. Chuh-Sun’s father and Sung-Jong’s grandfather were supporters of King Dan-Jong and worked together in hopes of re-crowning him king once again. However, at the last hour Sung-Jong’s grandfather turned on Chuh-Sun’s father to support the current king!
With nothing to back him up, Chuh-Sun’s father urged his pregnant wife to flee and save their lives, leaving him to pass away…
As time passes Kim Chuh-Sun (Oh Man-Sook) was born and he eventually meets Yoon So-Hwa (Goo Hye-Sun) with whom he falls in love with. At the same time, Sung Jong (Go Joo-Won), who is the grandson of the current king, also befriends Chuh-Sun and So-Hwa. While the three are close friends as children, this soon changes when politics and love come into play.
“King and I” will portray love, sacrifice, and even politics all at their best. With social class being the dictatorship of one’s life, will Chuh-Sun and So-Hwa ever be able to love each other as they were meant to be? Or will politics and respect for the King prevail once again?
